let us be greek

Yes, I finally found a reason to venture into the attic and bring down the Christmas lights... in August.

So last weekend I went to my favorite grocery store in the world - Wild Oats. I don't go there very often, mainly because of it's distance from my house... but I love it no less. I believe this is partly due to the fact that every time I explore that store I feel unnaturally inspired, compelled to buy all types of new-to-me food, then cook messy things. Well of course my experience last weekend was no exception! Just before I left I spotted this incredible looking pizza that was titled "Greek". Thus, my evening was born.

Christmas lights, tiki torches and all, I decided to make an event of it (my would-be new pizza creation that is) in the form of dinner-for-two.

I have decided that cooking, in a lot of ways, is like making a fabulous piece of art work only you get to enjoy it with all the senses. I also think the more tasting and smelling and adding of "special (unexpected) ingredients" with (clean) fingers - as opposed to measuring cups and spoons - the better.

So on this particular evening, I made a "Greek" pizza of my own with no recipes involved (which is incredibly freeing, though risky as well I admit) and am happy to say that it was a success!
