treasure hunting

I typically do not frequent the Saturday morning yard sales. Though I believe them to be full of potential, I am not among the patient, faithful few who scavenge them week after week. My grandmother, however, is one of those people... And somehow, without fail, she is always able to find these incredible items that people are practically giving away.

Well this weekend, I decided to join the yard sale novices and go on the hunt for a treasure of my own.

I went to the Country Wood yard sale... a big thing here apparently- and much bigger than I had expected! I made it through the insanely commercialized portion of the sale - complete with a giant BBQ grill, oriental rugs, and large appliances. I even made it through the incredibly slow-moving traffic that had turned the originally two lane rode of the busy neighborhood into a one way street. Yes. It was intense. But entirely worth it.

In the end (and for only $5.40 mind you!) I came away with an arm load of children's books and an amazing turquoise tent. Yep. I'm hooked...

My grandmother would be so proud.
