On my birthday's eve, I thought it only be appropriate to give the update on my momentary state of mind (as I procrastinate studying for my midterm tomorrow which should definitely be against the rules of happy birthdays).....
Just a few things:
I actually had a lovely, morning conversation with my mom on the patio swing - a rarity these days. I sipped my tea and breathed in the sunshine air and thought my own thoughts and the combination of these things made for a unlikely, yet perfect Wednesday morning.
I also came home to find my mother - pen in hand - leaned over dozens of papers layered across the kitchen table. They were all decorated with different styles of calligraphy writing and I was once again reminded of what an incredible artist she is. I wish I had taken a picture...
Which brings me to the thought... I believe that creative people are actually quite opportunistic. There are, of course, other characteristics to creativity, but I believe this one to be the most common of threads. Lately, I have realized (unfortunately in hindsight) that there have been many a moments I could have definitely made something beautiful out of, had I only noticed. I think you have to be always looking though. And looking always takes time. But I can think of no better use for mine... and yes, that was a ridiculously (almost) unintentional rhyme.
