sweet things

Today I woke up, got ready, and made it to class in record time. I've been whittling down the minutes from the bed to the door for a few weeks now in an attempt to savor every last second of sleep possible. Well, this morning (wearing a t-shirt and shorts and the hair on a pony tail: not typical) I sat down in class and began contemplating a nap.

So as I'm thinking about seep, looking like a slob, and thumbing through notes, the girl sitting in front of me turns around and is like,"I love how you're always so cute and happy this early in the morning... you must be a morning person. I'm so not that way but I love being around people who are!" Seriously? As I'm sitting here contemplating sleep and judging from my appearance have clearly been deprived of it? She was just precious and made my day.

More than anything, it was funny reminder of how differently we often perceive ourselves in contrast with others peoples' perceptions.

This also a great reminder of what magic a little mascara can do :)

On a different note... Jason's birthday weekend was wonderful and the Cajun Boil on Saturday was delicious! In addition, I decided to make him a special dinner on his actual birthday including crepes for dessert. Fabulous. I had almost forgotten how easy and delicious they are!

This is the recipe from Epicurious which I highly recommend: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/views/Sweet-Crepes-352470

We topped ours with bananas, peanut butter mousse, and dark chocolate syrup - Delicious!!!
