happy spooky day!

Wow, how this month has flown by! I've been spending a lot of time in my practicum this semester at Grace St. Lukes and boy do I love it!!! I was finally assigned to my classroom at the beginning of this month and I spend several hours every day in with my Kindergartners. Though time consuming, one perk of this whole being-there-everyday thing is that I get to be a part of it all... the big accomplishment and the lunchtime conversations, the melt-downs and the knock-knock jokes.

This month has been quite a stressful one full of the silly, ridiculous things that make life seem stressful and have the potential to steal joy. In the midst of it all, I can't even express how refreshing is to be surrounded each day by positive, encouraging people who put the world into perspective -be them 5 years old or 50. They help me to see the charm in the mundane and the value of friendships that stand the test of time, distance, and changes. They've shown me the value in developing new friendships as well.

Another thing I have learned through the week of rain: There's no stress that a stroll down the Christmas isle at Hobby Lobby, Starbucks with a sweet friend, and sour candy can't cure!

So happy pumpkin carving, costume wearing, and candy eating and (in the words of my newest 5 year-old buddy, Eli) I'm so happy you're my friend :)
