confession

Okay, so here's the truth. Between the fun of first grade crafts and our new house endeavors, there is one growing project that has been lurking in the background. I have been pushing it to the side and choosing to paint mirrors and scour pinterest (that new love of mine) instead - all the while the inevitable awaits. I can't ignore it any longer.

I am out of socks.

Our floor space is becoming increasingly limited.

The Christmas tree is still up.
(yes, you read that right)

Thus, all the avoidance has come to a screeching halt. I have this threshold of messiness that I can handle. I’d say it’s moderately low - I am by no means (in anyones eyes) a neat freak. However, there is only so much I can handle. Throw the dishes in the sink, work a puzzle in the middle of the living room floor, scatter paint chips and floor samples about the house, it won’t bother me. Until that one cereal box hits the counter and it’s like someone pulled the fire alarm - something must be done, and immediately. Well that point was just about 10 minutes ago. It would take a week to restore this place to its former order that I can hardly envision these days. Of course I am most likely exaggerating and this will all seem far less severe tomorrow, but until then, I am banned from doing anything that will create more mess, no matter how how fabulous the finished product may be.

... if I don't emerge from the laundry room in the next 24 hours, you'll know where to find me.
