project: little lamp

I finally had some success thrifting today! My treasures-awaiting-a-makeover pile is growing large these days. This little guy just happened to be first on the list...

{After some detective work - aka flipping the lamp over and checking the bottom - I discovered that it’s actually real silver. Even better!}

{dollar for a shade to match}

{I ripped strips of muslin then then set my tension medium/high on my machine and sewed away for some ruffling action...}

{...and here are the results. One of the simplest sewing tricks ever. By the way, have I mentioned how much I LOVE my new sewing machine? LOVE. You can bet your boots there’ll be more on this later... In fact, at the rate of my growing affection for this fabulous machine, I may even dedicate an entire post to it. We’ll just have to wait and see...}

{TA-DA! I just hot-glued the ruffles on, layering them on top of each other.}

{a bit shabby chic, no? I think this little cutie will be living in my craft room... for now.}
