This is actually from the other night, but it was so scrumptious, I had to share. We started off with some classic waffles. The husband bought me this fancy-shmancy waffle maker for Christmas when we were dating. Kind of like the part in Father of the Bride when what’s-his-name buys Annie a mixer for her as wedding present and she flips out. It was the first “official” present he bought me and I have to be honest... short of a ring, there was not a gift on the planet that could have made me any happier. So waffles became one of our first family traditions. Even before we were officially a family. Ironically.
So enough with the backstory. And in case you skipped all that, bottom line is that we like waffles. A lot. And have been making them for a while. Yet no amount of past waffle experience could have prepared us for the thoroughly delicious waffling that took place the other night. (Yes, waffling. It’s a now verb.)

{I’d give you my recipe if I knew what it was... I just mix my basics - eggs, oil, sugar, milk, greek yogurt and SR flour - then tweak it until it looks right.}
And this is the part when our worlds got rocked... the toppings...
For the syrup:
Butter in a sauce pan on medium heat until melted.
Add brown sugar, cinnamon, and sea salt... once it begins to caramelize fold in thinly sliced bananas.
Pour over your waffle and add a heaping helping of whipped cream.

Yummy! I'll have to make that for M... we like pancakes for dinner and that would be perfect on top!
