Lately I seem to be having these run-ins with people who don't have cable and from what I can tell they all seem to be much better and far more interesting people for it. I like to believe that if lightning were to strike and wipe out all cable television, I wouldn't miss it at all though the Food Network would likely be an exception...
It's actually my source of food inspiration for now, which I'm mostly ok with. Thus, the other night I was watching Ace of Cakes (one of my current favorites - lots of sugar, very artsy, entirely wonderful) on Food Network of course, and one of the cake decorators on the show was talking about how when she was in art school they had to become obsessed with something, which made me think: If I had to choose an obsession, what would it be? Well, all of the things that I kept thinking up involved creating or making something. I like to make. In fact, it's the common denominator in most everything that I love to do.

I don't know what exactly this means, but it made me happy to know.
