moments captured

I don't take as many pictures now as I used to.

I love taking pictures. I even had this idea once that I would take take a picture every day for a year to sort of document my happenings. I never really stuck with it though. I think I got the idea from this guy I heard about who did it over his entire lifetime. I didn't even last a month.

I kind of wish that my life was full of picture-worthy adventures that happened on a daily basis.

But back to the reason that I stopped taking so many pictures:
It all began with a slight revelation. I was snapping all these pictures one day in February. It was unnaturally warm and sunny and the boy and I had a picnic. It felt really fun and unusual because of the season and I had some great pictures from that day. The only problem is that it's difficult to enjoy the moment and capture it at the same time. In general, I feel that I am either doing one or the other because a lens is a bit limiting. I really hate that though.

I wish I could blink and capture exactly what I see so all the details could last forever... and maybe even convert it into print. It would be far more convenient.

Instead, I feel that I'm typically stuck deciding between experiencing a moment or trying to capture it.

I think I am going to learn to do both.
