rain rain

First week of school: complete. Today was supposed to be productive with cleaning, laundry, and studying, but I'm just not feeling it. The rain makes me want to sip tea, read and bake something. I've been reminded this week of all the things I so dislike about school, including the following:

:: Being required to drive a car every day. (If I could bike my way to school I would, but all the protective and wise people in my life would never allow it.)

:: Parking, parking, parking.

:: Having to be compliant and act interested in topics such as race and gender issues, and pretend that I'm actually going to use this useless information when teaching kindergartners.

Please forgive my venting. Don't worry, I'll find something good in all this by next week, but until I'm acclimated to school again I plan to ignore it all and enjoy the weekend!

A friend is having his birthday celebration here and I'm so excited. Hopefully the rain will only be temporary because I'm looking forward to this more than you could imagine. To be honest, I never really enjoyed the fair too much when it was at liberty land. There were parts that I liked, but it always just seemed a little dirty and more "city" than "country." However, this, I could not be more happy to attend.

It's going to by the Agricenter -an area I love to begin with. This isn't the first year, but it's the first for me. I'm looking forward to funnel cakes, cotton candy, people watching, and some outdoor music of course! And if I must enjoy it all in rainboots, then that is perfectly fine with me :)

That sounds like so much fun! I wish I could be there!
