After a day or two to think on our colors we have some favorites (a bit more toned down than the ones I posted yesterday). Now, as it turns out our scanner light apparently casts all things in a yellow haze so do not be alarmed by the warm tan looking "Seashell Gray" or the "Ryegrass" that looks like it could have been shag carpet in the 70's. Bottom line, you'll have to use a little imagination until we can get these on the wall.

{see what I mean}
Right now we're thinking that the kitchen will be the light blue/gray color, the dining room will be the darker shade (that looks more blue in real life) and the hearth room will be the Seashell Gray. The green color we were hoping to use in the library/music room or half-bath. Or. . . should we ditch the green altogether and opt for a palette that looks more like this?

{which does look far more cohesive, no?}
Only problem is, as long as I have had a say in wall color I have always had a green room. First it was my bedroom in "Apple" then my bedroom in "Honeydew" and now our living room in a "Light Stem Green."
The trouble is that in all our inspiration pieces, there is not a green wall in sight. Do we give it up on the walls and just use it in accents? Perhaps. Here are just a few that we've collected over the past year or so - mostly from old Cottage Living magazines or Pottery Barn. . .

See what I mean? Definitely some green accents to be found, but the most recurring theme is varying shades of neutrals (white to cream to brown and bits of black) with rustic undertones.
