I’m deviating from home projects for a moment to share one that I’m doing for my classroom this fall. I’ve been playing around for the past week or so with classroom arrangements and realized that something essential was missing: a reading area. I don’t know about you, but when I’m ready to chill out with a book, a desk or area rug just won’t cut it. So I went on a hunt for that perfect cozy piece. My first stop? Goodwill. What can I say, I’m sucker for thrift stores (especially when I’m the one paying for my treasures). Well sure enough, I didn’t have to look far to find 2 identical cushioned ottomans for a steal. I’m planning on arranging then in an L shape in a corner of the room and throwing lots of pillows on for extra cozy appeal. Bam.
Only one little problem. I believe in both functionality and aesthetic appeal, and let’s just say... these ottomans are in no way a sight for sore eyes! Instead, they’re very much the kind of fabric you’d find on an office chair in hotel conference room - nothing that would exactly beckon to a 6 year old. Therefore, I’m undertaking the project of covering the 2 of the them in something a little more cheery. Also an important factor in my fabric selection: Because these were purchased with my own moo-la I’ll be toting them home whenever I exchange the profession of “teacher” for the profession of “mom” at which point the otomans will likely end up in a kids room or play room. Another detail: My classroom currently has one light, oceany blue accent wall.
With all that in mind, here are my top 3 pics:
Whadaya think... Top, middle, or bottom print?

Thanks Rachel!
Also, for any of you fellow fabric hunters out there, Hancocks is having an enormous sale at the moment rendering their store almost unrecognizable! I scored some preeeetty sweet finds last week... certainly worth checking out.
