I’m dedicating this post to ones of Jason’s favorite food groups: peanut butter. We go through a lot of the stuff around here so consequently, we end up testing a lot of different brands. Well, our faves thus far only had one ingredient: Peanuts. Seems kind of obvious, but I always thought peanut butter must be more complicated than just some peanuts.
I was happily wrong =)
STEP 1: Put some nuts in the food processor (mine are a mix of peanuts and cashews just for fun).
STEP 2: Turn it on. This is what it looks like after a few seconds...
... then after about a minute...
... and another minute later...
... then about 4 minutes in. And you’re done!
STEP 3: Spoon out into that jar that used to house your far inferior peanut butter.
BEST. PEANUT BUTTER. EVER.
I couldn’t believe how easy it was! And seriously, the taste. It’s unbelievable. Better than any store-bought peanut butter I’ve ever had. And better yet, it comes out of the food processor warm and creamy and smells incredible. The texture of this one reminds me of the kind of peanut butter you get fresh-made at whole foods (you know, from those machines that resemble coffee bean dispensers). Not quite as silky as a traditional creamy peanut butter, but certainly not even close to a crunchy version. If you’re used to the more natural peanut butters, this isn’t far off texture wise and is a big improvement in taste.
And bonus: It doesn’t separate because there are zero added oils!
Almond butter is my next endeavor.

I never realized it was so easy! LOVE that you used cashews and peanuts! Well done!
Whitney,
Your blog is so cute!
You should try almonds and maple syrup next time-I LOVE this combo! Cashew butter is my #1, though.
