What a wonderful realization that this is officially summer. I took a quiz this morning and whilst writing the date on the top of my paper made the happy discovery: it really does finally feel like summer. I don't know why, but to me all of May usually feels a little like a wait-and-see game. I'm always afraid that just as I pull down the summer clothes or get my heart set on the sunshine - by some twist of fate - the temperature will drop about 20 degrees overnight and I'll have to pull out all the scarfs once again.
But not anymore! It's June.
With this safety net, I am finally taking all those boxes of winter clothes up to the attic and enjoying this sunny day.
Adding to my delight is the fact that my father re-constructed the pool over the weekend making it swimable once again. I'm off to enjoy it in moments.
And PS. Jason's birthday is one week from today and I'm so excited! I love birthdays and the making of birthday plans and presents. I can't tell you what I'm making for him yet, but it's going to good... I hope! We're planning a Cajun boil this weekend which includes:
all the family... those checked summer tablecloths... eating with fingers... lots of laughing... and delightful dessert for sure...
Yay for June!
