case in point

In relationships it seems that there is always 1 very practical person and 1 person who everyone in marketing loves. I would be the latter. When J first moved into our place he needed a can opener... this is what I bought him:

{because truly, who wants a can opener when you can have a “Toucan Opener”}

Unfortunately (for the toucan and me both), from the moment he came out of his packaging this guy started causing problems. I’ve taken a screwdriver, a file, and hammer to this fella to try and make him more effective - all in vain I might add. I’ve even put up with him for a year now... cutting then not cutting, spitting paper from the side of cans all over my counter top, screeching to a halt whenever his heart so desired. Well toucan, you were cute while you lasted, but it’s high time you met your match: Red. Now this guy is way more J’s speed. No cute name. Nothing that evokes laughs from our guests when I pull him out of the drawer. Red means business.... and we like him for it. Marketing may still have me when it comes to hair products and nail polish names, but I’ve taken a big step forward in kitchen tools department, and this is my proof.

{he’s kind of snazzy in his own way}
