the drive-by

When we were first trying to decide on houses and areas, we would frequent potential neighborhoods, just to get a feel for it. And by frequent I mean maybe like once a week if we happened to be in the area. Now that we’ve found our future home, this habit has continued. We’ll still go the extra 3 minutes out of the way to drive by just to imagine our cars in the that glorious contraption know as the garage (with which we have had zero experience thus far into our married lives). We’d go by to see if any of the neighbors are out (and if they looked friendly), or to see if we can catch contractors in the act of fixin’ up our place. I assumed this was all pretty normal... until tonight.

I think we hit a new level.

True Story: We head down to the nearest gas station to fill up my car before work tomorrow (there’s nothing worse than getting in the car 5 minutes late and seeing that red, gas light come on... I go with preventative methods). Well, this gas station is literally jogging distance from our apartment. So we fill up my car and before the engine is started or the milage checked, we look at each other and know we both have the same idea... to go visit the house. Not on the way to somewhere. Not like a scenic detour. This was way out of the way. And not to mention approximately the 4th time this week.

I think it safe to say... We Are Stalking Our Future House. I hopefully, doubt this is normal.
